Just bought a Tascam DP-01FX.
Any pros or cons y'all wanna mention? I'm just getting back into home recording after many years of live performance. This sure looked like a good recorder for the cost ($489.00 tax and all at Guitar Center in Charlotte, NC).

For my two cents, it looks like a solid little unit continuing the Tascam tradition of Value For Money. But I don't own one and you do...
 
I can dig it. Give me a few days and I'll try and post something. Uh, is there a way for an uninformed indivdual (like myselk) to post some noise on here?

You'll need this nifty little freeware audio editor/recorder called Audacity to get your songs into MP3 format, then post them in the MP3 Mixing Clinic.

Take care to read the documentation when downloading and get the LAME encoder too --- apparently they can't include it in the zip file for legal reasons and without that you won't be able to make an MP3 file.
 
I've recorded a couple of times with it so far. I'm really pleased with it so far. I'll try to get something posted by middle of next week. So much work, so little time, right?

I have the DP-01, and I love it! Just starting to lay down quality tracks. All is good! Good luck with yours.
 
I would love my DP-01FX too, If I could use it. Seems like the power adapter is the weak part, maybe not suitable for 230 V. Two power adapters have broken already after january.
 
I'm getin mine tommorow 6/6 and already have my stuido all claened up for the homecomin......previous post : seems like 230 volts would pop any power supply.......

I think almost all European countries have 220/230v 50hz electricity. These are my first ever power supplies that have broken (though it should be suitable according to specs).
 
I am thinking of buying a Berhinger composer pro , I saw one for £79.00

Do you think i can use this with the DP-01FX?
