Tascam DP-01 Recording Problem

I recently purchased a Tascam DP-01 second hand but having a problem getting it to record.

I have followed the manual regarding the set up and have a Ketron SD5 Keyboard connected to it. Now when I assign the track that I want to record onto and arm them the machine is registering that it is getting the sound.

When I hit the replay button the tracks go from flashing to static red light as they should but it does not record the sound.

Any idea why this is happening? Its driving me potty trying to figure it out.

Do you mean the record button? You have to press and hold in the record button and then press the play button at the same time to start recording - see page 21 of the manual. Do you have the input level controls turned up? Can you hear the keyboard through whatever you are monitoring - headphones or speakers? (plugged into the DP-01, not the keyboard)

I do press the record/Play button together and it should record but it doesn't.
