hey everyone

im new here so be easy with me! i had enough of recording on the PC so i purchased a DP008 so i can tweek and record wherever. ok let me just state my set up :

Tascam DP 008 (on its way still)
Rode NT2A Condenser mic
Korg KP3 effects pad
Mini KP3

now what i would like to know is it possible to connect the condenser mic into a MIXER with phantom power which then hooks to the KP3 to put effect in my vocals which travels to the DP 008 so i can use abit more with my vocals and so fourth?

or is it better to lose the MIXER and just buy a preamp?

im trying to make a full CD on this thing and i do hip hop, sometimes i get bored sitting on a pc trying to tweek and so fourth!

Why not connect your mic directly into the DP-008? It can provide phantom power at the push of a button and I find the Tascam's preamps to be very quiet. Either way you go, I think you'll enjoy the little DP-008.

Best,
Will

I understand it would be more easy to just hook it up but I would like to add more effects to the vocals through the korg kp3 like echo and such...but would there be a loss of quality from the mic if it's going though a preamp to kp3 to the 008?

Also I got a beat on my pc,is it possible to copy that to the Tascam for me to add vocals on top?it's a mp3
