Hi

question 1
2-track simultaneous recording (read on Tascam DP-008 SPECIFICATIONS page tascam.com/product/dp-008/specifications/)

what does this mean?
Am I able to record on all 8 tracks simultaneously with different sources?

question 2
mic/line - can I use a normal mic like that one I used in the 90s with minidisc? (Sony ECM-MS907 Battery Powered Stereo Condenser )
Is it stereo?

1) No. It only records 2-tracks simultaneously, max. There are 2 built in condenser mics, 2 1/4" inputs and 2 XLR inputs, of which you may use in any combination. To record 8-inputs/8-tracks simultaneously you'd have to step up to the Tascam DP-24. If this is one of your requirements the DP-24 might be worth looking at, for slightly more than twice the price of the DP-008.

2) It appears that you might be able to use this Sony stereo mic if you use a 1/8"(F)-Stereo-to-1/4"(M)-2-plug adapter cable. I'm not even sure that this type of adapter cable exists, but it's worth looking for one. On the other hand, you may achieve similar results using the 2 built in condenser mics and careful placement of the unit. I've read the internal mics are very decent.

2a) The 1/4" and XLR inputs are mono inputs, provided in pairs (A/B). The 008 itself records in stereo, i.e., 2-inputs recorded simultaneously to 2-tracks.

:spank::eek:;)
