any user opinions on these? i haven't heard much talk about pros or cons of these boards because i guess not too many people use them. i have seen some going for fairly cheap used, though.

actually, i'm going to throw peavey mkIII and carvin mixers into the question.

I have an old Tascam 2524 board. I can say the pre´s are OK but a little noisy and it only has unbalanced outs/ins (except the mic input), but it has good EQs and flexible routing.

i like the alesis studio 32.16 channels.ive had it for two years doing live work and it hasnt given me any problems.

ive also found it good to use when recording in my little studio, lots of routing possibilities for its price.check one out.

Alesis mixer

Ive owned an Alesis studio 24 console for about a year and a half now. I mainly use it for recording in my project studio. Im not a pro or anything but it gets the job done and I haven't had any problems with it.

Like Jeronimo, I have a Tascam M2524 and I would agree with the assesment. A little noisy, but nice eq and routing. Most of my recording these days does not involve mic'ed tracks, so the pre-amps have become less of an issue. If I started doing a lot of acoustic tracks again, I would look into an outboard pre. Overall though, I've been very happy with the board.
