Hi Does anyone know if it's possible to record directly from the 788 to a minidisc recorder. I've heard that you can record via the audio out into a CD writer.

The 788 can't tell the difference between a minidisc, cassette, CD recorder, eight-track, reel to reel, computer, or any other kind of recorder. Connect the line outs from the 788 to the line in or whatever input is available on your recording device.
Note if you record to a CD recorder, it has to have audio in connections. You can't hook it up the same way as you connect a computer.
