Tascam 788 help

Alright, I bought a used 788 from Guitar Center about 3 months ago. I have my demo all recorded so I saved a little and sprung for the burner but I can't figure out how to work it. When I do my premaster, how do I get it to actually record my audio? Do I have to do something to the tracks or use some kind of audio cable or something? Forgive me for being stupid but I'm pretty new to the recording world. In case you're wondering, I have my burner connected and the only other thing that's plugged into anything is my head phones.
 
If you are recording properly, and you are getting a signal and sound out of your headphones then you should have any problem recoring to the burner. There is a little tricky part though, I can't remember specifically what it is right now, will have to get back to you. I can do it witht the machine right there but can'[t see it in my head right now. Look in the manual, You have to premaster and then there is a go to master, then you can record, you may also have to put the faders up. It is in the manul quick start, if you don't have that go on tascams web site and download it. I remeber I had the same problem at first.
 
The only cable you need is the SCSI cable connecting the 788 and the burner. Aside from that you really have to follow the manual. It's confusing at first but the info's all there.
 
If you've made a premaster, you can make an audio CD by going to the CDR menu, then selecting 'CD Writer'. It will bring up a list of songs that you have premastered. Then just select which songs you want to burn to the CD by scrolling down to each song and pressing the 'insert' key. Then push the 'Enter/Yes' button and it should work just fine, assuming you have the burner connected properly via the SCSI cable.
 
A big thanks to all of those who got back to me. I figured out the problem. I wasn't arming my tracks. For those of you who are having problems recording your pre-master, hold down the TRACK key and select all the tracks you want on the master and send them to the stereo bus. Also, make sure your faders are up to a good recording level. Thanks again
