Tascam 428 Is It

The US428 has a USB port that allows you to connect to a computer. I had one, and it worked, but it uses the 1.1 protocol so it's not good for many tracks.

It is not a sound card, in the PCI format.

it stilll a sound card right cause i got no soundcard inside my computer just the tascam 428

I use it with Cubase SX 3 and record 4 tracks at once. It works on the USB 2.0 ports with current drivers from Tascam. It replaces the need for connecting to a sound card. Just plug into the 428 and record into your software. NO motor faders, just manual, but the dam thing does do the job. Most of the newer controls are similar in function.
