Tascam 424 mkII will not turn on(play and record lights have a faint flash)

Help. I had just finished recording a marvelous 4 track song and I was moving it to the other room. Nothing happened and I put it down on the bed happily and plugged it in and it won't power on. Sometimes if I plug in the AC in the back the Play light will flash, sometimes this happens when I turn it off and on alot. If I hold play and record, both of them flash fully, a little bit, and then they're gone. I don't know what's going on but I am shocked and saddened.

Failing that, does anyone know of something that will let me put my tape on the computer(I have a line out usb monitor)? Possibly something I don't have to order? Fuck.

Damn. Just realized I can't even transfer it using my tape+cd player because I can't click in the tracks :(

If I get another 4 track, not necessarily a Tascam (say, an old Yamaha MT100or something) will it recognize all 4 tracks as unique and let me control them or will it just mush it up into one disjointed track? If it's the latter, will an identical Portastudio recognize them?

I will bet the farm that the power supply is bad. Is it a wall wart? If so, check the voltage supplies out to see if they are all there (there could be 3 different voltages). If it is a standard AC cord, it has an internal supply and you will have to have a tech check it out.
