Haven't posted in a good while...

Just got an alesis micron via FedEx today. Very cool little synth. Love it.

Had to lay down some quick tracks with it...just noodling around.

Got some new equipment not too long ago. A 424 mkII (awesome), a lexicon alex, an alesis midiverb II, and a dbx 163x. All of these items were used in this quick production.

For my taste, it doesn't get much better than a nice cassette 4-track. Analog, easy to use, and most of all-fun!

Here's the link. Viva la 4-track!

Cassette 4 track to highly compressed 128 bit mp3 but still sounds awesome man! Really full sounding arrangement. Great vibe!:)

Thanks cjacek. Like I said, I was just messin' round with some sounds, but I am always amazed at how well the cassette format holds synths. 4 mono tracks, but still a nice sense of space. I posted a similar synth jam last year, done on a tascam 246, and both machines impart that great gooey cassette mojo on recorded material. I may post that 246 composition in a little bit, for comparison sake (even though it was made using a different synth.) The mp3 compression does degrade the actual quality of the master a good bit- the raw wave file sounds stellar.

I think the micron is a great little VA synth. I can't justify the expense of a true analog synth like a moog or what not...but I think the Micron fills the gap nicely. Can't wait to explore it some more.

This quick jam fits nicely as background music to slow motion video clips:rolleyes:
