Hi guys

tascam_portastudio_424_mkii.webp

I bought at badboy like this one at eBay.

I was thrilled, 'cause I thought that it'd mean, that my garage band finally could get the lo-fi recordings, we've so desired. The problem was however that I bought it from the US, and I live in Northern EUrope, more specifically Denmark, and had to have an adapter. When I plugged it in with the adapter, it did light on, but it also emitted a strange humming sound, and then after a couple of minutes or so, it powered-off, unable to be turned back on.
Does anyone what caused this issue? And if so, how do I fix it?

sincerely,
Sebastian

Have you checked the inside of it to see if a fuse blew? If so, replace it with the exact same type and current rating and then shop around for a better quality voltage converter.

Also, once inside the 424, see if there are any internal voltage conversion switches and if so, you might be able to fore go the external voltage adaptor.

Luck!

Cheers! :)
