Tascam 388 record while in repro

Can you use a tascam 388 to record and simultaneously listen to the repro heads

I would love to integrate my 388 into my daw in this way. I understand there will be latency but I'm not looking to monitor off of the repro heads.

Hey Eric,
I'm not sure exactly what you're trying to do but the 388 doesn't have a separate playback head but rather a single rec / play one, thus you can't monitor material off tape as it's being recorded. Does that answer your question?
