Tascam 38 pinch roller won't engage

I recently replaced my pinch roller that was bad to find out after that my capstan belt was also bad. I replaced the belt. The pinch roller would engage befoe I replaced the belt. The machine will still fast forward/rewind as before but now the pinch roller won't engage. Got any ideas, I'm sure it's something I overlooked when reassembling. I'm pretty sure I reloaded the tape correctly. Thanks
