Tascam 35-2 won't record

This unit plays back ok but I can't get it to record. The record light does not come when you hit pause/record. Got any troubleshooting suggestions?

Don't you mean hit "play" & record?

Hey Rick,
Yes that is what I meant to say. I have since found that on that unit you have to have the pitch control off in order for the record light to remain on when you hit play/record. I tried recording some stuff and upon playback I could hear it playback but it was so faint you had to turn it up all the way. It's like I didn't have another switch engaged. I tried every button I could with no results from the hearing the playback at a normal level.

Hello
I have a 35-2 when ever you want to record, first on your transport press the record and pause
button, make sure the cue switch is the up position, next look on your recorder/reproducer unit
press the souce button and then right under the right VU meter press the rec mode button it
should record when you want to play back turn of the record mode button and press the tape out
button it should play, if you have any other problems give a shout
