Hey,
I've been trying to use a tascam 238 and the record button wont hold. I'm wondering if its broken or if I accidentally timed a punch in (not even sure if this machine does that). Sorry if I sound like a novice here but I definitely am. Any advice would be much appreciated. thanks!

not to suggest something completely obvious but did you check the write-protect tabs at the top of the cassette?

:laughings:

Might not be so obvious to people who weren't born when cassette decks were common.

I read about a kid whose dad gave him a Walkman. Took him three days to figure out you could flip the tape over and there was more music on the other side.

haha,, that sounds like an urban myth!

Nope. The kid wrote about it himself in his blog. He was dismayed that the Walkman didn't have a shuffle feature. He improvised using the fast forward and rewind buttons.

LOL!!!! I can see some guy with his first turn-table trying to get it to "shuffle" thinking he invented scratching!!!!! (I know, not a walkman, still)
