Hello, friends!
Did anyone hear anything good about Tascam 22-4? I`m going to have a look on it tomorrow. And hopefully to buy.
Any opinion and expirience are welcome

Yes I have had 5 of them and still have 2 right now. I like them alot. The only thing I dont like about the 22-4 is there is not a punch in socket on the machine so any punchins need to be done with your hand.

For a bit more, you can get a 34b. Much better deck in my opinion.

As I mentioned above, any opinion is more than welcome. I`ll think twice before getting 22-4.

This is just a guess but being that you're in Russia, it might be hard to find local deals of this type of gear. It can be disastrous to ship so I'd be looking at that local 22-4 if I were you. You mention that it was local, correct?

Honestly, condition is way more important and if you can check it in person and do a local deal. If the 22-4 passes then there's nothing wrong with that deck. The 34B is indeed a step above but do you have one available local as well? Like I said, the 22-4, paired with a mixer is just fine, a nice compact deck, capable of good recordings. Be aware that capstan belt / pinch roller will likely need replacing, but that is true of any deck of this sort. Good luck.

Absolutely correct , it`s a local deal. There`s some number of Studers, Revox, Fostex etc reel-to-reel recorders spinning around on the second hand market here. Where do they all came from? From the past:)
50 % are TV, broadcasting ex gear, still keeping in the basements of their offices.

I've had a 22-4 for a few years. Reliable and good-sounding. I have zero complaints about it and parts are still available, which is huge.
