Tascam 133 or 22-2

Hi there.....

I'm new to analog tape, and would appreciate some advice with a few questions. I would like to get a reel to reel like the 22-2 or a tape deck like the 133... I only need 2 tracks.

I've been using plug-ins for this but would like to get the real thing.

I will be using this mainly for mixdown, vocals, snare..etc.

I have an opportunity to pick up a 133 at a decent price, would this do the job? or would the 22-2 be a better choice. Can you please describe what the difference would be between the both.

What about the 133 has anyone out there used one or have one in use?
 
If I recall correctly, the 133 is a 3 track machine where one of the three tracks is dedicated as a control track for controlling slide shows. It's not really appropriate for music production. Frequency response at 1 7/8 is very limited on the high end (I believe the spec is about 8khz.). You don't gain the use of the third track for anything practical production wise. I'd not even consider the 133 if you can get a 22-2
 
Thanks for the info, I'm gonna stick with the 22-2. What would be a fair price?

I would look in Ebay doing a search for a Tascam 22-2 and looking under completed items.
