Tape adviice

Hello all, yep............newbie............I just purchased and serviced an Akai GX-270D. The user manual reads to use Scotch #211 tape. Seeing that this unit is 35 to 40 years old I'm guessing that tape is out dated. Could someone give me a clue on something more current that my deck would like? Any leads would be appreciated. Thank you in advance....................

LPR35 from Recording The Masters is likely to be the best match for a domestic machine like yours that is currently available.
