Im Trying to make some dope beats wit samples in it...but i wanted to know if anyone one knows how to take volcals out of a track to make a accapela....or vise versa............anybody have sum tips, programs,or recomendations..thanx much

To take vocals out without affecting the song's frequency spectrum isn't going to happen unless you can get the masters from the label. What you could do is write a patch in PD or the like and follow the pitch of the vocals with a comb filter taking out the vocals and its partials. The drawback of this is all instruments that lie within the frequency range of the voice or its partials will be taken out or seriously messed up as well. It probably won't sound too professional either.

that little box you always see advertised in the back of rolling stone mag. that claims to remove vocals, where the guy with the mic. is signing, does work pretty well. A friend of mine has it and I have used it a few times. Cant remember its name. There are programs that reverse the stereo phase ( best way I can describe it) that do work but make music VERY thin. As stated before without the masters its very hard.

They're right, you're never gonna get it all out without at least partially ruining the sound of the remaining track. However, the Alesis Vocal Zapper does it pretty alright.

dope beats wit samples

What's a "dope beat wit sample"?
I didn't know samples were that witty. I guess I'll have to listen closely next time when Sample says something.
Sample really needs to lay off the dope though.

I think this guy wants the reverse of the Vocal Zapper.

BTW, this is the kind of post that I hate. :P (Those who have seen that topic know what I mean)

Also, terminology, people. A master is what comes after the mix. He would need to go back to the multi-track to get just the vocals.

Labels generally have masters of many different mixes including acapella and instrumentals only not to mention a bunch of others.
