taking midi drums and putting them into a song......cubase

im using addictive drums and i drag the beat into cubase, then i mod it and cut off the part i dont need. now when i play the small beat i have shown it still plays the whole beat that was in AD.....all 16 bars when i cut it down to the first 4 bars.

i want to be able to just use the first 4 bars and loop it while i record guitar over it....i would like to be able to hear and mod both the drums and guitar after the recording.
