It shouldn't be that bad. You do get a couple of over heads.
So if close micing of the drums is what you want then your all set.
These microphones would also come in handy for recording other sources.
There are recordings in the MP3 clinic and some great sounding drums are recorded using cheap Cad microphone kits.
