Hi

I've just ordered a new computer

p4
3,0 ghz
1gb 400mhz ram
80 gb seagate barracuda HDD
250 gb seagate barracuda HDD

(drives are SATA150, 7200 rpm)

I bought the 80 gb HDD as a system disk, and the 250 gb disk for audio

Now my question is...where to put my samples and samplelibraries? (wav, giga etc)

Me, myself, I figured I'd keep the 250 just for audio to keep max disk performance on that part...
And figured I'd put my sample stuff on the 80, as it should be able to cope with that...

Am I right here? Help me out

You'd probably get better performance out of the 80GB for you audio drive. After you're done with a project you can back it up onto DVD or another drive and reformat.
If it was me I'd put the samples on the 250GB with the OS and use the 80GB as audio, although you could probably go either way and not really notice a difference

I don't think that's gonna happen... I really need the disk space for my audio, and don't wanna go swap-swap-swap-swap all the time...

besides the 250 is a newer model than the 80

If the 250's got the 8MB buffer and the 80's only got 2MB, then shit yeah use the 250GB as your audio.:D
