Bacially the whole sample rate thing has got me a little confused. I understand what the sample rate does in terms of audio tracks but some VST synths, such as Reaktor ( which I LOVE ) and Reason, have the option to set their own sample rates. What are the implications of this?
Say I want to record all my audio at 96k and I set Reaktor to 44.1 what sample rate is actually being used? It gets even more confusing when I think that my audio which is running alongside the Reaktor parts are recorded at 96k.
Also if I set Cubase to record at 96k does this up the output quality of basic VST synths and plugins which don't have their own sample rate control??
