Yo yo yo.

I like the Gadget Labs Wave 824, I like the DMAN line, mostly because of the numerous analog I/O and 24/96 compatability, but...

How do these puppies perform in softsynth applications? Does the midi suck? Can I run softsynths with programs like Cubase, Logic Audio, or Cakewalk on these cards? Do I need a dedicated "synth card," for these uses?

If anybody knows, tell me.

I know you are, but what am I?

I don't think any of those you mentioned even has a synth at all! As for softsynth- I've only tried the Virtual Canvas.
It sucked.
The softsynth is really a separate application running along with your multi-tracker and as such is a bad idea from the git-go.

You must have never played around with Reaktor or Pro 5, for these softsynths are spectacular.
