I've recorded myself playing drums into Audition while video taping at the same time. Now I want to replace the video cameras audio with the audio from Audition.

Is it as easy as importing the video into Audition (which should show two tracks, one audio/one video) then align the two audio tracks and delete the videos audio track replacing it with the recorded track, right? Thanks

Yup, it's just a matter of importing the video file into Audition in the normal way.

The only "but" is that CS5.5 is a bit fussy about the video formats it supports, the published list being:

AVI
DV
MOV (including files with up to 32 audio channels)
MPEG-1
MPEG-4
3GPP and 3GPP2

In Waveform view you should see the associated audio, in multitrack you should have a video track plus you audio in a separate track.

The only other issue you may have is that your camcorder was free-running to its own sync source while Audition was working to its own wordclock. Over a longish take, the differences can cause you sync to drift and you'll need to drag it in again.

Thanks Bobbsy. I'm gonna mess around with this today and get back here with a few questions, I'm sure.
