I'm getting a dat pretty soon. What is the best way to sync it, so i can upload songs. to my protools rig, and record to my dat for mixdown (going to experienment that).

I thought about using the SP/DIF in and out. But i already use the SP/DIF out to my Home Stereo system for monitors. And the SP/DIF in, comes from my soundblaster card, for midi.

Only other option is unbalance RCA cable, which would be pointless! Or the ADAT lightpipe optical. Now can i use the optical with my dat and sync it up? Let me know please, i don't want to have to change cables when i do other things.

I don't see why the RCA route is pointless...it will do the job fine.

If you are worried about an extra A/D-D/A then use the optical connection or SPDIF. Does your DAT have an optical out...I don't think the 001 has an optical in.

the dat has optical out and in, plus SPDIF out and in. My digi001 has SPDIF out and in, and light pipe out and in. Don't know if i can use that.
