Symphony sound??

hey all i was wondering how all those rap and hip hop artists get those symphony sounds. TO be clearer i'm talking like cellos and violins and stuff like that, for example, http://artists.mp3s.com/artists/107/mez_from_the_bay_root_camp.html listen to uh-ten-shun, that symphonic sound, a lot of people use that and i wonder do they make those sounds on a synth or do they just sample????? any help greatly appreciated thanks

djabc, that is clearly people playing. Either
they pulled that lick off a sample cd, or they
brought in real players and sampled them.
You cant make that sound with a synth. Likewise,
that is not a sample that is "played' by a keyboard,
its a one measure sample of people playing.

FYI, the beginning of that tune was Stolen From
Aaron Copland's Symphony #3. I bet you didnt know

Check out the Gigasampler. If you want real symphony sounds you can do it with this.
