Thanx alot Eck. You're probably the person the most responible for me working on and improving my guitar sound. When I first did a version of this about a year ago, you kept trying to help me with my guitar sound, insisting there's something wrong. Sure enough, I had the set up all wrong and worked on it to get it where it is today, which is beter for sure...So, thanx for that. :)
Yeah your guitar tone has improved for sure.
What have you done diferent?

Im happy to help. :)

I thought this thread died...Just saw Eck's comment and question.
Well, the main thing I was doing wrong before was NOT using the Speaker Simulator on the Yamaha DG STOMP. I thought I wasn't supposed to use it since I was going into a cab. So, I figured, why use a cab sim if I'm using a real cab??? But that was why I was getting that buzzy "direct" sound even though I was micing. Besides that, I read alot and experimented with mic placement and tone, etc. I'm not saying my sound is as good as can be, but at least it's not embarrassing like it was before.

Thanx again.

The hand percussion just moves this one right along. Very tight. Nice work!!

Apparently someone without rep power, did NOT like my posting on your song Rami..... :D

Sympathy for the Devil... 08-29-2006 13:43 tramp.

I am not sure if they are calling me a tramp...or if it is reference to themself  , being that is all they decided to sign with. :D :D :D :D :D :D

Sounds great! I like the live audience noise about 3/4 of the way through. More of that please. :D

Hot guitar playing and drumming.

That's peculiar. Well if it was grey rep, they might have been trying to give you positive rep. Maybe it was Charlie Chaplin. :p:p:p

Thanx alot, Tim. I didn't want to put in too much live audience. I was scared it might sound like I'm trying to pretend it was a live performance or something. That audience is from a live Stones album, so I thought it was appropriate. Thanx alot for the compliment!!!! :D

"how will it sound sober?" :D

Also, remember, vodka dosn't sound the same as rum. I think vodka usually tends to come out a little bright and rum a little darker. So you might need to apply an orange juice filter.

However, if you pull out your everclear and position it in an MS-stereo configuration in relation to the vodka, then you'll get a better wobbly image. :D

Also, make sure not to mix if you have a 50% or more alcohol-blood level in your system. By law you are prohibited from blowing your speakers as a result of "over pimpafication" due to drunken mixing.

I dig, man. You get good feel out of your songs. You're gonna have to teach me that trick...mixing under the influence. :D

Nice work, you definitely have great talent (Drunk eh??). I'm just hooking in to this wesite, can't wait to hear more from you.

Thanx alot, Lee. I'd like to find that out too. I certainly don't recommend mixing under the influence. I think I got away with it because this tune doesn't need much fader manipulation, etc...But I had no perception while I was mixing this. I'm sure it could sound even better when mixed with full faculties, and I will do that, eventually. Or I'll just try something sweeter, like peach shnapps or some girlie drink.. :p :D

Thanx alot Dobs...welcome to the site. You'll find there's a lot better than talent around here than my little cover song. Looking forward to hearing some of your stuff, too. :)

Thanx for your opinion. DAS. It's a real bass, no fake instruments in this at all. I'll try to eq it better. Thanx.

Maam,
since everyone else in this forum seems to be hell-bent on kissing your ass,let me give you some HONEST feedback regarding your submission of the Rolling Stones song " Sympathy For The Devil".
1.there should be a law that states that under no circumstances should anyone from Canada be allowed to cover a Rolling Stones track.
it is blasphemous and insulting to Jagger/Richards that your horrid canuck
accent completely ruins the lyrical content of said song.
2.the guitar sounds just like every other bedroom recording I have had the dis-pleasure of hearing time and time again...hire a session guitarist with pro-gear and chops.your guitar sounds as if you recorded it in your ass.not pleasant,at all.
3.here at Mystery Records cover tunes are often mocked and ridiculed for no other reason than you are not savvy nor talented enough to compose your own song.you seem to rely on other peoples efforts in order to recieve some meaningless accolades.face it,the truth is that you couldn't compose a hit song if you tried.it's just not in you.blame Canada,it's the weather there that
keeps you in the basement doing cover songs.pathetic and hilarious all at the same time!
4.take a few pointers from my client, the hypnotic Christian.write your own stuff.the payoff is far greater.you should see Christians BIG home,he didn't get that BIG home by doing 3rd rate Rolling Stones covers to impress his girlfriend...or a few brown- nosers on a website.your ego has run amok,my dear.

my post seems to be perfectly in tact.
perhaps you cannot grasp the fact that not everyone on this bbs is going to fall hook, line and stinker for your bullshit?
if ANYONE is pretending to be ME ,they better have a VERY good attorney at their disposal.

To be totally honest (like you), Do you know what sounds "fake"?

Mp3 of "Metal Zone" guitars you post here .And, even if someone post a song with "sampler" bass ,if it works, it´s great!

Just to make it clear, i'm not using a sampled bass. It's an Ibanez bass straight into my pre-amp. No samples, synths, loops, or anything else. I know you weren't talking about my bass track, CIRO, I just didn't want anyone to misunderstand.
DAS is entitled to his opinion on the sound. That's why we post music here. When I re-mix it, I'll listen closely to the bass and see if I can get the REAL bass to soud more REAL.

Ok, Rami, translating "fake" (as he saids) for portuguese is bad ...
And it´s one of better bass lines you record.
