Symetrix vs b-ringer

I picked up a used Symetrix 425 compressor/limiter/expander the other day for 50 bucks canadian with the intention of guting it for the chassis as they are 70 here. My question is, should i gut it, or should i keep it and gut one of the two behringer mdx 220's that i have?

I'm leaning towards gutting one of the behringers instead....

Damn, where did you pick one up for 50 Canadian?! I've got 3 models of symetrix comp's, and they are all rock solid. I would gut one of the behringers, not because it might be a better/worse compressor, but because you will have a couple of flavours to choose from.

i've got a Symetrix 425 and i think it sounds just fine as is. I like mine a lot on acoustic guitars, bass, overheads and kick. sometimes it sees use on snare, too. in fact, i'll pass signal through it without having it compress anything just b/c i like what it does to the sound.

if you want to sell it, i'll take it off your hands. i'll gladly give you that $50CAN back. ;)

cheers,
wade
