Sx Rocks

Actually, let me expand a bit... it's great for audio and audio digital editing, but I don't use it at all for midi (because I haven't been doing much with midi lately period), so it may not rock for that!

From the Cubase SX forums, I gather there are a few significant midi feature omissions that many are up in arms about........

Okay, I had installed but hadn't really messed with SX until they came out with the 1.03 fix.

I had purchased VST/32 in May and got the free SX upgrade. I figured while I was waiting for the upgrade I would learn 32 and get used to going from analog, to digital recording. I found that after quite a bit of reading, I was getting good results in mostly digital audio, but MIDI as well.

Well, after seeing all the fixes in 1.03 I finally tracked with it. All I can say is "WOW!" and "right on Steinberg". It took a t bit of setting up and getting used to the new look, but I have to say I like what I see. I can see that this is going to be easier. There are fewer windows and more uniformity in the controls. Seems easier to use, yet more powerful, and I have been using MIDI and under 1.03 from what I can see everything is looking good.

I don't use it for video, but for what I do use it for.....it rocks! :D

Does it work well with XP...IF so I think I will try and upgrade to it..

Sorry, I was on a week vacation so I havn't been around.

I have it running on XP and I think most do here, and for me it is running flawlessly, XP seems to be much more stable for me than 98 SE,but to get there I had to optimize the system for audio.

"K" are you apologizing for taking a vacation?!?! :D

SX only runs on XP, I believe. It might run on w2k, but I don't think it is supported on it.

Sorry Chris, but that's incorrect -- it runs on (and is supported for) Mac, XP AND Win2K.......

LOL, not apologizing for the vacation, just that I know what it's like to ask a question and check back everyday for a response and when people don't it's a bummer ;)

Anyhow, SX says it's supported under 2000 and SX, but I have a friend with 2000 and he still has stability issues. All I can say is once SX is tweeked, it is rock solid. I've always cursed Micro-crap for it's instable OS's, but XP is the real deal.

Also, I am even more in love with SX than I was at the previous post. It is so exciting that this is just the beginning and it is this awesome already! SX is hands down the most kick ass program in the world.....well, at least I think so. :D

I have been using SX for several months now on WIN2K... not a single problem....!

That's what I get for not keeping up on the news...

Amazing! I move, lose my regular internet contact and (wham!) suddenly I am no longer informed.

:p
