Another brick in the wall
I have 2 Echo Layla cards, and I really like them, although they are only 20/48, and have only 20 ins between both of them. I looked on ebay, and MOTUs are way cheaper than one of my laylas, and it has higher resoloution and 24 imputs to boot! Would it be smart to offload my 2 Laylas and get one MOTU and use the spare cash twords a mic or something?

How many ins do you need? And how many analog? (Note that most of the MOTU boxes you're seeing on eBay have 8 analog inputs and the rest are digital...)

Although THIS is a lot of analog I/O for the price, and very tempting. I wish the converters on the MOTU hardware I've seen were a little better, but they will definitely kick butt on your Layla.

Well, I'll probably need 24 channels max, since I'll be doing drum tracking, and my kit that I'll be getting will take alot of tracks, and I need a couple for guitars and bass too. Although I only have a 16 track mixer, I'll be getting a new one, or a second one to handle all my inputs.

See the link above, then. You can't beat that for the price.
