Hi guys! I just registered here. Seems like an awesome forum! Excited to get started in here.
So, the deal is. I've been producing in Pro Tools for several years and always been happy about it. Not too long ago, my friend invited me over to his studio (only electro music basicly, where I use all kinds of instruments to record) and he used Ableton Live. Seemed fairly fun and I decided to try it out aswell so I bought the Ableton Live 9 on sale at my local music store. I installed it, and I tried copy + pasting all my old VST, RTAS etc. files from my previous directional in Pro tools folder to a new folder I created in C:/Ableton Live Plugins. All is copy pasted, and when I open Preferences -> files and locate the folder and Rescan nothing shows up. I've been hopelessly stuck on this for a few hours now, and after 5 cups of coffee I decided to ask you brainiacs. Whatcha got to say about this? Where did I go wrong?

If they are 32 bit and you are using the 64 bit version of Abelton, they will not port over. However, if you use the 32 bit version of Ableton, then they will work. I use the 64 bit version and purchased a bridge application, JBridge. You can also use rewire with Abelton if you want to use some Protool plugins.

Some plugins have to be installed and the plugin folder selected (EZDrummer and IK Multimedia are good examples) during the installation. Others just copy the file to the folder.

Hope that helps.

I'm using Massive, Nexus2 and Waves Mercury Bundle. They might all be 32 bit, would it be possible to get them in x64 bit when I legally purchased them as 32bit?

As I said, Ableton will let you run 32 and/or 64. The 64 has little gain except for the additional memory. Most companies do not charge differently for 64. So, you should be able to download the 64 version and be authorized with no issues. I probably will pick up your current authorization from your computer.
