Suttering sound whilst playing back Video

I am writing some music for a short film and whenever I play back the music with the video in cubase I get horrid stuttering sounds...
I tried playing with video formats, I am using .mov with quicktime at the mo. I have had more luck with .wmv in the past so tried this and this didnt work at all!
Its really annoying, when the video window is not open there is not spluttering but when I press f8 too view the video with the music I have written it starts spluttering. press f8 again to close window and its back to normal.
I played with the video cache size, no luck...

any suggestions?

No one got any ideas? I am in the middle of a project and have to write some music for this film I really need some help!
Its a quicktime file i am playing in cubase and it just makes the audio sound terrible. When i press f8 and close the video window the sound is ok..

ok so I have converted to wmv and it worked but the sound did not work in cubase. I attemopted to convert to wmv again but with a different audio codec, this time it was not even recognized by cubase..
Why is cubase sooo picky when it comes to video!! :-(...
