Sorry if the question is stupid!!! I am a musician and have a my own home studio. I am currently using nuendo with m audio delta 66 and NS10ms as monitors. I am looking at expanding my setup.
I was considering buying Motu 828mk3 Hybrid coz it 8 analog i/os. Midi, adat, spdif and also has 2 sends (in case I want to add outboard gear later). I was also considering buying Genelec 6010a 5.1 setup with 5040a sub (Sometimes I have to do projects in 5.1)
What I was wondering is that will this setup be expandable to 7.1 in case I ever want to expand it. The Motu has 8 outs but the Genelec 5040a has 5.1 connectivity but not 7.1. I ideally don?t want to invest in something that is not expandable. Also the genelec 7200 series has AES/EBU connections for 7.1 but is too expensive.
Does anyone know of any other brand of speakers that can be installed as 5.1 now and later can be expanded to 7.1. My budget is around $4500
