sure 57 and audix i5

I've used the 57 for years but I like the audix i5 better on my mesa cabs. Done know if its the frequency picup of the Mic or if it sounds less compressed but it does sound richer and fuller to me.I have v30's in the cabs and close Mic at edge of cap. Sorry for caps my phone does what it wants to.

It's fine, use what you like best. Too much MUST and not enough MAY in drum miking technique.

I've got both and am pretty much the opposite.

I still like the 57 up on the grill and the I5 on my snare.

too bad I play kazoo.

I'm one of the few people who have no use for the 57. I sold all of mine and went to EV n/d308/408's. After using them on a horn section, I sold my 421's also. Not that they sounded better but (for the money) they sounded close enough, much cheaper and much easier to position.
