Hi
Sorry for my bad English,...

I'm looking for some decent cheap drum microphones (100 - 200 $). I would like to buy a kit of drum microphones, and ive seen 2 kits that i like.

Superlux DRK-F5H3
Red5Audio RVK7

The thing is, i would like to use the overheads for vocals. Does somebody know which kit has the best overal sound and the best overheads?

I'm sure somebody will tell me to buy some shure sm57's, but i would like to buy a kit.

Thanks in advance

The Superlux stuff isn't bad. It's a good copy of Shure's stuff, but not a great copy...I'd give it a good strong "B" with respect to Shure's quality. Don't know anything about the other brand.

I've used the smk-h8k for years for drum overheads and people have loved the sounds I was getting out of em. If you want to hear what they sounded like, you can listen to my myspace page: <link>http://www.myspace.com/raytownproductions and listen to the "Today we Fly" sample song. I used those mics on the overheads.

I might be selling mine shortly, so if you are interested, let me know!

Good luck!
