Sun Ray - new ballad

I uploaded a rough mix of a new song called "Sun Ray". I tried to give it a very lush arrangement (which seemed to fit the chords) - sort of a slight Beach Boys influence. I'd appreciate any feedback on either the song or the mix. I think the vocals probably need another iteration to fix some pitch issues although at this point the thought of one more tracking fills me with dread :o

This is a great mellow tune. More like early Pink Floyd rather than Beach Boys. I'm enjoying it. Lots of layers, lots going on. It's on the verge of being muddy, but everything is still in it's own space. It sounds like you put a lot of work into this tune.

Thanks for the positive feedback. The song isn't a 'natural' style for me, but I enjoyed composing it, and I'm glad that it works for some others as well.

I suspect that the any mud in the mix may be coming the piano. I'm using the MDA piano VSTi, but with "dark" parameter set. I'll try brightening that to remove some of the low-mid range in the mix. I usually do an low cut on the master EQ, but in this case I thought the overall warm tone fit the song.
