Hi guys. I am writing from Andalucia Spain and I have set myself a wee challenge. I am back here for 8 weeks study and the 4 weeks travel on the road. I want to see how many songs I can write and record in this time and then post them as I go along.

If you guys could take a listen if you have time that would be awsome. Tell me ehat you think? I learn from everthing you tell me.

Summer sessions

I would love to hear some strings on this. Mr DavidK what do you think? worth a try. Perhaps the song is a little dull.

nice one

Good to hear from you mate. I am going to check out your track and all the new goodies here tommorow after school. Cheers. Erland

Hey Erland, great song. Nice backgrounds. Listening to your songs is like listening to some old Cat Stevens or Simon and Garfunkel that you haven't heard before. Just that real simple catchy poppy sound. Very cool. Is that intentional, btw? I mean are you influenced directly by that old sound (do you listen a lot to old stuff), or does it just come out that way?

Macle

i agree with Macle here, this does have that oldie's feeling to it. It's really cool.

if you can, i would like to see like a photo or 2 attached when you post each tune that you are writting/recording while you are travelling. you can make some really nice diary outta this

I wish I could travel, too, but SARS is all over home.. :( gotta take more summer classes or get a job to fill my summer...

Hi Macle. Cheers for listening. i think it just comes out that way because i dont listen to one type of music, who does I suppose. I like songs and so if someone is playing something I have never heard I will asks what it is. I dont have my own music collenction and this sucks becasue if I want to play some tunes at a party I cant play anything but my own stuff. I also only have the accoustic guitar so I suppose I keep it that simple. I would love to add strings like a Beatles track. Nice one mate. I will try and write a new age one them.

Hi Al. Glad you gave it a listen. I really tryed to get a nicer sound on this one. You nailed what i want to do by the way. Instead of just track names a wee pic too of exactly were i was when it was made. Sorry to hear your travel plans were buggered. Later

Watyf. That song of yours is much better than just a good song. It is really georgous. You have a such a unique style of vocal. the percussion in this is too good. Amazing mate, your best. How did it go down on the forum, tip top no doubt. Well done.

Gosh tell her this is great!

Wow

Another cracking tune.
I gotta say though you realy are very talented.
I just wonder if you are not a named artist maquerading as a home recordist.

If so I still love the tunes so keep em coming.

But please.

Reveal thine self !!!!

Lee.

Great tune. I love the way the vocal goes from that in between note (semitone like) bluesy lick, and jumps out and nails the harmony! Each part compliments the other.

Great job on everything

Joe

I have d/loaded the songs at work and will play back tonight, posting my comments tomorrow. Looking at the other responses you have got, looks like you have a winning albums worth at the end of this term/semister;)

All that talent and you are also in Andalucia. You lucky, lucky bastard:D

This is a very beautiful song. The harmonies were real nice. I loved the one at the very end.

Am I misunderstanding something? It sounded to me like you had a song titled "Summer Sessions" but I didn't see that.

I'm a bit thick, you'll have to work with me. :)

It's called Paris, the very last word of Erland's post

That was frickin' beautiful man....

Great harmonies.... such a huge vocal sound too... and I dig the modulation. Very folky.

I would say I hate you... but my guitar tone does't suck as much any more...

so now I just kinda dislike you.

;)

:D

as for my tune... it went over ok, and I was able to submit it for the Comp CD, so that should be cool. Thanks for the feedback. (I'm still workin' on coverin' one of yours... don't you worry... I'll get to it one of these days. :p)

ok... scratch that... after a second listen. I definitely still hate you.

:p

Ever send a post and right after you click submit you wish you could pull it back? I noticed the last word right after I submitted. Oh well, on to the song...

Very pretty. As always, very well sung. Enjoyable harmonies. Liked the "ba ba ba ba's" and the "tick tick tick's" - kind of a "vocal rhythm section." I don't know if this was natural room reverb or if you added anything, but it seemed perfect to me.

Here is some very nitpicky stuff... Some pick noise or pursing of lips or something at 1:19 and again at 3:33 and 3:38. A little vocal click or something at 1:23 on the word "take." Hit the low E string kind of hard 3:45.

As I said - very minor. The only thing I'd fix is the E string thing. Very enjoyable song.

great tune. i wouldn't touch anything, the trhing with the e string isn't as much a problem i don't think. great feel.

for anyone who missed cyanjaguar's lengthy discussions on the 'wildcard', this supports his theories whatever they may be. analyze it all you want but in the end some music has 'magic' in it.

erland, that was beautiful. i'm listening through the crappiest laptop soundcard into the second crappiest set of headphones ever made and it sounds better than anything i've heard since i'm not sure when.

your singing is gaining dimension lately, i've noticed.

i won't be able to give this a listen on my monitors for a while but i'm not sure that's needed anyway.

another to add to my erland collection.

oh, by the way, is your name erland cooper? i just want to know cause that's what your name is in my music library.

Hi Erland!

Truly a fine tune!
The recording is the best Iv'e heard you do yet.
Clean and crystal clear.
Acoustic sounds especially nice,sweet.

Fine harmonies, and the writing is great as always.

I listened to all the tunes you have up,I havn't been around much.
Born Again is an especially nice tune,I liked the driving guitar playing, and thinking lyrics are always my favorite.:D

Thanks for sharing.

Enjoy,
Pete
