First i want to say thanks for all the help in all of the boards i have received so far. i have finally made my mind up on a delta 1010 soundcard that i will purchase to run my equipment which so far is a mpc2000xl & a keyboard which i havent decided on yet.

1. my first question is what are some good mics that i can purchase(i will need four) that wont break the bank but will be good enough to get the job done.

2. my second question is in reguards to which type of monitors i should by. should i go with active or passive and what are some good brands to go with.

3. i was interested in getting an affordable keyboard and was wondering if anyone had pros/cons on the triton, motif, xp-80 or n364.

4. where can i purchase soundcards at the best price.
any and all help would be greatly appreciated.

In my opinion......

1. One Marshall MXL 2001, Two Sure SM57's

2. Yorkville YSM1's (Passive)

3. XP80

4. ???

VOXVINDER,

why the passive monitors?

I don't agree on the XP 80 either. I find it a difficult and not user friendly machine to work with. I would go with the Triton.

not to mention that you may be the first to reccomend the mxl 2001.

Everyone else seems to hate that mic, not even Gidge would reccomend that one.

Hey BrottB

I Choose Passives cause they are cheap and can be used with any reciever in a home studio setting...

And the Keys..... Personal Prefernce I guess...

Thanks for asking though...

Well.. I've never been a trend follower... I'll say that first.... If I hear something I like... then I like it...

Naturally I would have reccomended a 4033, (My favorite mic in the under $500 range) but thats a bit more expensive... I was trying to do a best bang for the buck thing...

I am not a fan of the C1... im sure alot of people would reccomend that also...

I was impressed by Bruces Clip that he did with the MXL 2001... Based on that clip and only on that clip, I thought it was damn nice sounding... and quite a bit cheaper than the 4033...

I have a feeling that he was talking about the v67. But all mics have thier purpose. at 130.00 the v67 is more bang for the buck.

MORE HELP PLEASE!!!!!

STILL TRYING TO GET MORE SUGGESTIONS ON MIC PREFERENCE.IM WILLING TO SPEND ABOUT 500.00 ON A TOTAL OF 3 OR 4 MICS. I NEED ONE GOOD LEAD VOCAL AND THE REST WILL BE BACK UP.

1. ALSO I WANT TO KNOW WHAT IS THE EASIEST KEYBOARD TO USE BETWEEN THE

XP-80, TRITON (TRINITY), N364 OR MOTIF
