Suggestions on stand alone Recorder Plz

I am looking for a stand alone hard Disk or any removable media kind Recorder which can handle sample rates atleast upto 48Khz for on the road recording use, so it would be easy for me to integrate with my studio later. All the recorders I see are 44.1Khz unless I spend more than $3k. My budget is less than 2k so if you please know any recorder that can do this, please suggest. Thank You!

Kind of out of my field, but did a quick search and the alesis hd-24 seems to do what you want, would have to go through the digital i/o's...but dont take my word for it...im sure i will get hell for this...but just wanted to see if i could help.
