Link doesn't work for me.

Try lightningmp3.com next time. It's a lot better than this. Especially since this site causes downloads to go at 1.25 KB/sec on my broadband connection. 16% done...84% more to go.

the overheads or something sounds a little too compressed or distorted

What style of music are you going to be recording? Also, what kinds of mics and how many mics are you using? You could use the sound you have now, but it would definitely be a stylistic thing and I wouldn't want my drums sounding like that through the whole CD. I think your cymbals are ok. The drums don't sound particularly pleasing to me. Are they clipping on the way in? What fx or plugins are you using? Theres something not quite right, and with your name I doubt you'd want the sound you're getting. Give us some info and we can help you out some more.

Lol it sounds like Hawaii 5-O.

Your second clip sounds better to me. Everything is clear enough,ie the kick & snare are coming thru OK. What you need to do now is see how they sound with guitars & bass etc, as to how well they blend

Tips on how to make your drum track better?

FIRE THE "DRUMMER"!!!

Damn...that was painful.

Like the sound of the snare, what snare are you using?, what mic do you have on the kick?

that kit sounds super wide. make sure the snare fits the song.
