Hey guys.

I have a Lynx L22. Great card but only 2 analog outs (out1-L & out2-R, I believe).

Problem is I want to hook speakers AND headphones. The cheap-o way is Y-adapter. But only volumn control is in the software (no vol on speakers or headphones).

So I'm guessing I need a box that accepts the L22 outs (XLR), then allows multiple outputs from the box (XLR to speakers, 1/4" jack to headphones).

I'm looking for suggestions. Something with nice clean sound. Will I still need a headphone-pre with this?

I'm sure there is a name for such a device but I don't know what it's called. :)
Thanks.
Roger

You can do what you are looking to do with a small mixer. Go from card to mixer. Then go from mixer outs to speakers. I'm assuming you are usimg powered monitors. On the mixer there will be a separate headphone jack w/ volume control.

A headphone amp like the Behringer 4600 (I think thats the model #) has stereo 1'4" ins and outs, so you could run the output of the Lynx into the headphone amp, and then out from the amp into the monitors.

Most likely.

You could also check out the Presonus Central Station (I think it's called) or the Mackie Big Knob.

Someone else recommended the PCS to me as well.

So I'm guessing the PCS has built in headphone pre-amp (since it has volumn control)? This would mean I wouldn't have to purchase a separate headphone-pre box (rolling that money into somthing like the PCS)

I also like that it looks like I could talk to the vocalist through her headphones. Cool bonus.
