I hate to say it, but I wouldn't buy anything associated with Lars Ulrich. He's a crappy drummer, whose just a little loudmouth.

Tim
It could say PeeWee Herman on the side and I would still play it. After 20+ years I dont care about the name as long as it sounds good.

I've been giving serious thought to the chad smith signature snare and the sensitone. from reading it seems like they've got the sound i'm looking for in a price that suits me well. from the descriptions i've read, they sound great but i'd really love to actually hear them. anyone got any sound clips or know where to find some? i'll probably be going to a local drum shop sometime soon when i can find a few hours to spare. although i always feel bad when the super nice local drum shop guy spends an hour with me trying out stuff and then i go buy it for cheaper online.

I was going to suggest the Chad Smith. Great sound and you can find them used for cheap.

I agree. I hate that prick and Metallica sucks now anyway.

i think lars has always been a nothing special drummer. however, that really doesn't make any difference or not in whether his signature snare actually sounds good. i still haven't really heard it though.
i think i'm actually going to go ahead and order a sensitone from music123.com, it's cheap, if i buy heads with it i'll have 6 months to pay it off, if i don't like it i can return it. i would go with the chad smith because i want to check out the free floating system but it doesn't come in 14x6.5 which i really want. so yeah, i'll most likely be ordering a sensitone.

still though, no one has heard the ultracast? it's twice as much money as a sensitone but it looks like something i still might be interested in.
