I need a new webpage host that can handle mp3 files. What is a good one and are there any free ones out there. I am looking for something that is more than just posting music files. Thanks.

don't forget!
http://www.nowhereradio.com

and you can provide a link to your stuff pretty easily like this:

http://nowhereradio.com/artists/alternative/drstawl

My latest stuff (as of 5 minutes ago) is there now.

d031d2_64P.mp3

The second longest thing I've ever offered in this clinic.
75% acoustic guitar/25% synth.
I encoded it at 64 Kbps to keep it under 3MB.

Excuse the flubs. I'm not Paco De Lucia.

I plan to rerecord it, but you all know about the best laid plans of the Three Blind Mice.

On the lookout for the Farmer's Wife.....

sondriven,

What kind of host are you after? One with a lot of traffic, etc. like MP3.com, where you are somewhat limited to site design? Or a webhost that allows you to build a website, offers frontpage support, domain hosting, MySQL, asp, ftp, yadda yadda.

Yeah, I just have a very basic webpage right now. With general information on what im currently up to and working on. And from there I have a link to my mp3.com site.

But what im finding out is that it seems if more than one person accesses the site, it becomes unreadable. Its a free site thing, but i expected it to at least work a little.

Heres my page

www.sondriven.com

If you can view it, cool, but thats what im going for, and if there is something out there that i can post a song on, thats a bonus. Thanks.

I have my home page at geocities.com and my .mp3 files at artistcollaboration.com
The former is a well known address that has survived the dot com bust. The latter is a small site, but offering 100 meg of ftp space free.

example from the ftp site

my home page from geocities

Free stuff is still out there, but you have to look a little harder these days.

sondriven,
your page worked fine for me...
even went to the pictures page. we could trade NICU stories, my twins were born at 25 1/2 weeks and 26 1/2 weeks and weighed 1#10oz and 2# . They turn six in February.

oh yeah, webhosts...
If you are doing simple stuff, you're probably ok where you are. I always want to do complicated stuff, so I end up paying.
