My band broke up and I have decided to do some solo recordings.
I know nothing about recording music at all. I have just bought a Fostex mr-8. I am going to need a drum machine since I am sick of working with unreliable musicians. Can you suggest a drum machine for me?
The music is along the lines of Thin Lizzy/Hendrix/Kravitz/beatles
thanks

Hey

The Zoom RT 123 is a good one for you to check out,
Mine sounds very realistic, it also has bass guitar sounds too,
which also sound good and it's very easy to use.

I've been using a Roland R-70 for a number of years, and it is one of the best drum machines I've every tried. I've been able to easily and quickly lay out drum tracks.

I am now at the point where I'm able to sell my beloved R-70 as I've found some good PC-based drum software that will work fine for my needs now. I'm planning to use the cash from selling my R-70 to buy a Fostex Mr-8?

Two questions for you:

1. Do you want to buy a Roland R-70 drum machine that is in pristine (as in like new) condition? Original box, manual, etc. are included.

2. How do you like your MR-8? Easy to record and lay down tracks?

I use Alesis SR-16 and it sounds wicked - I could send u an mp3
