Did a show south of Boston about a 2 1/2 hour drive for me and about 15 miles on the way back -the water pump went.
No problem that's what I have AAA for.
A few phone calls and 20 minutes later along comes the flat bed, all loaded up and the driver informs me out of myself and the 2 others that I have with me, one of us has to stay behind for he can only legally take two people.

So there I sat on the side of the road until someone from the shop drove to get me. DAMN

Yeah, I got similarly screwed by AAA- AFTER I informed them that there were 4 of us, and agreed to wait a bit longer for a wrecker with a crew cab, one with a standard cab showed up, AFTER the agreed-upon wait for a crew cab, and only TWO of us could ride with him. This happened after I saw a crew-cab wrecker, FROM THE SAME WRECKER COMPANY, drive right by us- and the driver of the wrecker that responded lied to me, saying his company did not own a crew-cab truck. Another time, AAA took OVER AN HOUR AND A HALF to even show up.

I HATE AAA. Now that I have learned that the majority of one's dues goes to pay for highway-interest lobbyist, I am cast about for alternatives.

Bummer but sure better than if it was in February. :(

You should have leaned against one of your buddies and claimed you were siamese twins, joined at birth by only the foreskin.

I tried to talk one of the techs to get in the back with the gear but he wouldn't have anything to do with it ..... wimp.

I would have stuffed him in that bass drum case in a heartbeat, the jerk. :mad:

It was a live sound gig ..... but if I had sliced him thin enough the long way he would have fit nicely in the microphone stand case. ;)
