Hi, I was wondering what types of uses people have found most appropriate for the DMP3. Myself I have found the unit to sound good for a trebley acoustic gtr sound. On the other hand, the dmp3 sounds kind of tinny to me on electric guitar doing into a daw through some decent convertors. Has anyone tried other applications who would like to share their results? Overheads perhaps?

Why, yes indeed! I'm using my DMP3 as a pre for my drum overheads (a pair of MXL 603s), and I've gotten very nice sounds with it.

Mad audio where did you get your 603's?
I got them from an eBay vendor, but I can't remember who it was. I got a really good deal on a matched pair, though.

yeah sorry about that,

ok i learned everything i wanted back to the original question :D

No problem guys, anyone else had any success with the DMP3 for specific instrument recordings, etc?

its my only pre so far..i think its good on everything

but i have tried the RNP and dont really think the price difference is that justfiable.

I, also, use it on acoustic guitars. It works fine as a DI for keyboards. It's a good complement to a colored mic for vocals.

I have several DMP-3s.
I have found them good on anything acoustic oriented from acoustic guitar and vocals to string bass and mandolins. I also have a pair perminately set up on drum overheads.
