Hey there,
You may have seen these photos if you frequent some of the other recording forums, but for those of you who don't, I submit these for your enjoyment...
These are some photos I took of my home studio, Suburban Din, after a recent remodel. The remodel consisted of:
First, a "before" picture:
And after. Amazing what a new coat of paint can do....
My modified desk and rack:
The MIDI rig:
Guitars and amps:
You'll notice that there isn't a computer. That's because I'm primarily a gigging musician and generally prefer the no-fuss-just-get-on-with-it nature of standalone MTRs, but I do have a laptop that I bring in for "mastering" (such as I can do with my gear and abilities). I also have the FireWire card for the Mackie and I may actually go the software route depending on how that works out from a work speed and ease-of-use standpoint. We'll see....
Thanks,
D7

These are some photos I took of my home studio, Suburban Din, after a recent remodel. The remodel consisted of:
- Building a closet with built-in shelving and extra insulation in the new walls. (This had the added benefit of allowing me to claim an additional bedroom should I ever sell the house, which is how I got the wife to sign off on it!
)
- Wiring the closet for electricity
- Adding sconce lighting and a ceiling fan to the studio
- Repainting
- Installing acoustic foam
- Using the guitars I've collected over the years as "art", which is much better than the typical wall art I could afford.
- Installing a pass-thru junction box in the wall so that I could neatly pass two XLR, two 1/4" mono, and one 1/4" stereo signals to an adjacent closet for my "poor man's isolation booth"
