Hi,
I've been using my 424 mkIII for about 2 years now. I recently have finally had the $ to invest in some rack-mounted units and improve the quality of my recordings. I now have an equlizer, compressor/limiter, and effects processor.
Here is my problem. I used the compressor for the first recently and was delighted with the new control I have over the dynamics. unfortunately, I noticd there was a subtle popping sound in the background. I know that I wasn't clipping the signal.... in fact, the popping was there even when there was silence.
I am baffled by what could be causing this. I will admit (shame on me) that in the whole time I've owned the porastudio, I have never cleaned or degaussed the heads. Also, I really have no clue what blanced and unbalanced inputs really are, and fear that I may also be doing something incorrectly along those lines.
If anyone has some usefull tips or advice, I would certainly appreciate hearing them. Thanks.....
