I'd like anybody to listen to a song I recorded in my bedroom. A spare-time only endeavor, I assure you. Before you take a listen, I'll tell you that if you asked what kind of music I like, I would tell you that I like rock. If you pressed further I would say punk rock. I don't like to limit myself in this way. I enjoy Cat Stevens and The Misfits.

What I used to record this piece:

Fender Strat - refitted with a EMG select humbucker
Carvin SX200 - Amp
Boss Metal Zone distortion pedal
Shure SM57 - Mic
Standard PC and Cubasis VST

And finally the web address

NO MIX COMMENTS

I'm listening during some "down" time at work, and they really frowned upon me bringing in nearfield monitors for my desk, so I'm stuck with these computer speakers. I just thought I'd try to get the ball rolling with a comment or two:

comment 1: That guitar part...if you took the distortion off, it could almost be the kind of "surfing" lick you would hear in one of those B movies from the 50's-60's, at least, after the first :20 seconds or so.

comment 2: I don't have any other comments right now.

Fun Ride,
Chris

not a bad start.....my suggestion would be start examining ways that you can use more of the stereo field......this is a pretty mono mix and could attain some much better dynamics with a stereo spread.....that should be enough to start with.........

damonx,
Welcome!

I liked this,nice guitar tone.
Nothin like a good ol 57!:D

What version of Cubase do you use?
I have the original one,and with the last update they included 2 free plugin's to expand the stereo field, like powderfinger suggested.
If you need a link to their FTP site, just PM me.

Pete
